Would the oft-linked Napoli striker be the dream signing for Arsenal's next phase? Or does he present a risk too big and costly? Let’s dive through tape, numbers, and tactics to see what we find
Great stuff Billy. Honestly, I just feel that our team currently wants to get the most out of out front 5. I struggle to see how we'll do that with Osimhen. To make it work I feel like he would have to be hitting close to Haaland numbers.
Do you think there's configuration of the team where signing a player like Leao works???
That's the best, most thorough analysis of any player I've ever read.
Carolina Hurricanes have a data guy, Eric Tulsky, who originally did it on an amateur basis, but they hired him and he's a bigwig in the administration now. I hope you get a chance like that.
Brilliant analysis and a fantastic read. Thank you!
My one quibble — strong disagreement? — is the conclusion. First, Jesus, while a brill player, has missed about half the available games of his short Arsenal career. We can either ignore that (as appears you do in conclusion), or recognize that fragility as one of the key soft spots of our team. Second, to channel both Ian Graham, Pep and everyone else who gets it: goal scoring is the hardest thing in football. Your analysis is that Osimhen is among the 5 best in the world at the most valuable thing in football. Sign him no matter the cost, I’d say.
Thank you for the splendid piece Billy, appreciate it. Am I the only one who thinks that while it'd be a huge commitment it wouldn't stop us from addressing the other needs in our squad?
Incomings: Osimhen, 6-cum-8 (Fofana?), young overlapping LB, backup GK
Outgoings: Eddie, TP5, Mo, Cedric, Rammers, loaned out players
If that's our window, as far as I can see, the numbers add up just fine.
Can you do something on Šeško?
Probably not too soon, but as things evolve, sure.

Oh yes, signing Leão works in all configurations.
We need Osimhen

Outstanding stuff Billy. Just as I've started to think maybe Osimhen might work at Arsenal, you drop this. Thank you 🙏
Billy this is ridiculously good, thank you
This was great Billy. I had gone down on him after the Arsenal Vision scouting videos, but this has me back to the proper level of hyped
What about Ferguson? Giekeyeres?
The first paragraph looks like a direct shot at Ole
