Tactical lessons from Monaco, Everton, and Palace. Why things stagnate; why that second half cooked; the Havertz Hitch; Merino and updates to central access; speed, risk, and what still needs work
I think Calafiori and Zinchenko are a massive miss. Zinchenko is not perfect - we know this - but he makes things happen and I like that. Cala is awesome but seems to be fragile but his natural ability is quite something...and Zin is his fill in. There lies the problem IMO.
I don't we are 'fine' I think we need more disruptors in our line up.
Billy I love your analyses so much. Always feel a sense of genuine excitement when one drops. I was surprised to see you mention MLS as a genuine left footer when I’m sure I’ve heard Sky commentary say he isn’t….what do they or me know huh? He is indeed a leftie 🙌🏾
Hello Billy, an excellent read as usual. It's really nice when you can dig deep into (very) recent games like this, even though I appreciate you also need to zoom out to look at the bigger picture. In your closing summary you talk about (again!) ."...more whipped crosses to the likes of Merino and Havertz." I must admit to having a predilection (bias) against what I would describe as outfield crosses, i.e. crosses made other than by players having got down the touchline. I'm very willing to shed this bias and it would be great if there is data supporting the notion that outfield crosses (which are obviously a lot "easier" to deliver as you have not got to engage/beat opposition full-backs) make more sense than crosses delivered from behind fullbacks. I must admit my absolute preference (style if nothing else) is the "cutback at pace". Anyway, might be something for you to turn your analytical brain to at some stage. Happy Christmas!
Another great read. The way in which you break this stuff down. Happy holidays to you. Looking forward to the next, hopefully on the back of some the great play you’re predicting might happen.
Made my day. Thanks and bless you, Billy

You never miss, Billy. Happy holidays
Also MLS is incredible, just needed to make sure I put that out there
Thank you, Billy! It's always a pleasure to read your mentions.
