Introducing LEFTY, a new bullshit stat to rank dozens of potential left-sided defender signings for Arsenal. A big long-read with dozens of stats, player profiles, and more
Although, Theo is a dream. In my top 3, I go for Calafiori, Mittelstad and surprisingly not on your list, Raum. Before Grimaldo move from Benfica, I contemplate which one between Grimaldo or Raum is better, and finally decide Grimaldo edge it out with his creativity, but Raum is really close. So, it"s a bit surpising his performance is not that pop out.
Think *Dorgu* stands out as a potential bargain option if one of the more dreamy targets don’t work this summer. Passes every test and would be the young player I’d gamble on.
Another young player not on the list that could be interesting as a LB / left sided player is *Baleba* for Brighton, even though he hasn’t played there. The numbers and eye test looked good and would also be depth at non6 / midfield. Brighton would almost certainly not sell this summer, but maybe one to watch.
Any chance we can follow the transfer blueprint of the summer so far and swap Kiwior/cash for Theo? I watched ALOT of Milan last season (American fan following Pulisic and Musah) and Theo is just so dam impressive…pairs well with Leao too.
Oh joy! Another dose of a Wonderfully Ironic Acronyms and Data cocktail! That will keep me through the end of the working day - something to be savoured together with a nice dinner!
Hi Billy, great piece as always. As we have been more reliably linked to Hato, I think the profile targeted will be more of a CB/LB hybrid (Calafiori, Hato, Bastoni) than a "traditional" fullback (Hernández, Davies, Mendes); that being said, I think Theo is absolutely amazing and a match winner on his own, so I'd love to see him at Arsenal.
Also, just a tiny correction - Ayrton Lucas has already played in Europe; he was at Spartak Moscow before coming to Flamengo.
Have you looked at Jacob Shaffelburg? He pairs well with Davies in the Canadian national team set-up under Jesse Marsh and played well against both Argentina and Peru in the Copa America
Can we take 90 mil for a midfielder and 40 mil for a left back and turn it into 130 mil and chuck it all at Real for Camavinga
Missed these BBQ. Keep up the good work my friend. Would like your views on the potential outgoings as well.
I have ended up here as a rogue Spurs fan just because your writing and research is incredibly good. Another great effort.
Great article Billy.

Will have Baleba somewhere in the 6/8 list for sure (to your point, with very little expectation that he'll go anywhere)
!!!!
Brilliant again, these might be my favorite type of articles!
That's great to hear.

Fixed, thank you

OK, Arin, I'm paying attention! 😂
LOLOLOL I was telling my friends in the pub yesterday that I was surprised he wasn't in your LEFTY ratings
Never have, no. Just seen him in passing but have no thoughts
Fixed!
Haha, brain freeze. It's in a draft somewhere, I'll add it
