I wonder if all the defenders motioning for midfielders to join the buildup are doing it knowing it’s bait for Ramsdale to play it long, or if it’s truly just Ramsdale’s call and the team rolls with it. Anyway, another fantastic read. (I think this was trossard’s first goal in the game; header says second.)
Great article! I love the attention to this single action. It’s what makes analysis great. Ramsdale has had (justified) critics for his distribution this pre season but these are the things that go unnoticed. No we aren’t Stoke, but people don’t realise how useful territory is especially when everyone expects us to play short. What app do you use to analyse? I like how you can highlight zones and players, what do you use for this? Thanks,
excellent point on completion %age not meaning much. Arsenal thrive on the second ball, which generally never shows up in surface level stats
Great read as per usual.

Interesting, especially when Ramsdale hit it as soon as the markers moved (and all the players were so demonstrative).
And you're right on it being Trossard's first, had it mixed up (will change). Too many goals.
