A tour through fourteen topics currently facing Arsenal, and what can be done about them to turn the tide — including deep manipulation, central dribbling, shot selection, Nwaneri, Merino, and more
My worry is that we seem to have reverted to a few predictable ways to create chances and other teams have figured this out. We need more dispruptors than Ødegaard and Saka and more ways of breaking the lines.
I, too, vote for Billy as the next DOF at Arsenal.
Thanks for an excellent article, a true labor of love, and a very deeply researched, well written tome. I loved reading it.
Feel more knowledgeable (a bit angrier and more frustrated about the season) but it's easier for me now to appreciate Calafiori more, and feel less frustrated with Merino and Martinelli.
Billy, excellent as always! Superb content brought to life by superb writing. I’m really enjoying “the Arsenal” at the moment (to hell with the distant future) but when I read stats about running time, more times than we seem to be outrunning our opponents. I am ambivalent about this: on one level, great, bring it on!!, but is it possible to create a sustainable team and playing style if constantly having to outrun opponents? I have in mind here your critique of our fallbacks being overused and resulting injuries. Although we both recognise that correlation is not causation, it makes you think. (I know I worry too much…)
Thank you for the very interesting insights and the stats research. Though I enjoyed reading the article (over several days as I am struggling for time) it was probably a tad too long for my personal preference. I also would be very interested to find indeed whether rest days affects game productivity.
From the ashes of Edu’s BBQ, Billy’s BBQ was born. Take up the tongs. Flip the steak. You’re our Director of Football now.
Billy’s BBQ is a no brainer.
Keep cooking chef.
Great article.

I vote Billy’s BBQ, thank you for all the excellent reads!
Once again, Billy’s long read brought me back from the ledge of despair. What a read! Thanks as always!
❤️❤️❤️
Brilliant stuff, Billy.
With Mr. Gaspar's departure, whose BBQ will this be now?!
